2. State the Week's reasoning question
For Grant Writing, the durable class question is: What does the prompt ask the student to understand, apply, compare, create, or evaluate? Translate the live activity into one sentence that names the decision or explanation, the required evidence, the audience, and the expected output. If that sentence cannot be written, return to the prompt instead of guessing from a prior Week or third-party example.
3. Build the work in proof order
Define the required concept precisely, apply it to the stated context, make the reasoning visible, and close with the implication the current rubric requests.
Make a rubric-to-evidence matrix before prose: one row per criterion, the evidence or reasoning needed, where it will appear, what the student must personally do, and the test that will prove completion. Draft the highest-risk row first, not necessarily the introduction. Protect time for replies, calculations, format conversion, approvals, and the final upload.
Worked reasoning: moving a design into a setting it was not written for
Transfer is tested by changing one variable at a time and asking what breaks. Hold the design constant and change the population; restore it and change the setting; then the scale; then the type of funder. Each substitution surfaces an assumption that stayed invisible while everything remained familiar, and those assumptions are the real content of a transfer argument.
The assumptions that break most often in health promotion work are structural rather than conceptual. 7. Run the Week 8 quality gate

8. Submit and close the loop

9. Defend the learning before moving on

Three Week 8 traps and the fix for each
The first trap is residue from the original. A design is transferred and the old population, the old geography, or the old partner is still named somewhere in the objectives, the measures, or the budget. The fix is a targeted pass over every proper noun and every population descriptor after the transfer is written, rather than before.
The second trap is transfer asserted without a limit. A confident claim that an approach will work in the new setting, with no boundary condition stated, invites the reader to supply the boundary themselves and to supply it uncharitably. The fix is to name at least one condition under which the transfer would fail and to say what would be done about it.
The third trap is treating a change of scale as arithmetic. Doubling the number of participants rarely doubles the resources cleanly, because supervision, space, and data collection do not scale in a straight line. The fix is to identify which parts of the plan scale proportionally and which change form at larger volumes, and to say so in the narrative.
