1. Capture the live Week 6

2. State the Week's reasoning question

Writing that carries the earlier weeks forward

Integration is the point of a second immersion course, and this is usually where a reader starts expecting it. Integrated writing is not writing that mentions earlier topics; it is writing in which an earlier concept does live work on the current problem. The test is removability. If you can delete the reference to the earlier idea and the paragraph still stands, the idea was mentioned rather than integrated. If deleting it breaks the reasoning, it was doing work.

Build integration deliberately. Take the current prompt and list the two or three concepts from earlier in the program that most plausibly bear on it. For each, write one sentence saying what it lets you say about this problem that you could not otherwise say. Keep the ones that produce a real sentence. The third is integrating so broadly that the current prompt gets crowded out. A paragraph that tours three earlier courses usually answers none of the live rows. The fix is a hard limit of two or three carried concepts, each earning its place with a sentence you have already written.
