2. State the Week's reasoning question
For Healthcare Finance, the durable class question is: Which decision does the number inform, and what assumptions make the result valid? Translate the live activity into one sentence that names the decision or explanation, the required evidence, the audience, and the expected output. 3. Build the work in proof order
Show inputs, units, formula or analytical rule, intermediate result, interpretation, sensitivity, and decision. A correct number without a defensible meaning is unfinished.
Make a rubric-to-evidence matrix before prose: one row per criterion, the evidence or reasoning needed, where it will appear, what the student must personally do, and the test that will prove completion. Draft the highest-risk row first, not necessarily the introduction. Protect time for replies, calculations, format conversion, approvals, and the final upload.
Split the variance before recommending anything
Once evidence has to drive an action, the most useful move in this subject is decomposition of a gap between planned and actual results. A single total variance conceals at least two different stories. One part comes from doing more or less activity than planned. The other comes from each unit of that activity costing or earning a different amount than planned.

6. Protect identity, practice, and research boundaries
Do not share protected health information, employer secrets, client identities, private peer content, assessment security material, or unauthorized research data. 7. Run the Week 4 quality gate

Three ways evidence fails to reach the action, and the fix
Pitfall one: a recommendation that floats free of the calculation. The analysis lands, then the closing section proposes something the numbers never pointed to. Fix: write the recommendation sentence first as a draft, underline the figure it depends on, and delete the recommendation if no figure can be underlined.
Pitfall two: citation stacking. Three references are attached to one ordinary claim, none of them examined closely, in the hope that volume looks like rigor. Fix: one claim, one best source, plus a second only when it adds a different kind of proof such as a data point beside a study finding.
Pitfall three: advice aimed at the wrong decision maker. A recommendation to change a payer contract handed to a unit manager cannot be acted on, and the response quietly fails the audience expectation in the prompt. Fix: name the role that owns the decision, then check that every proposed action sits inside that role's authority.
