2. State the Week's reasoning question

For Data Collection and Analysis for Evidence-Based Practice, the durable class question is: Which decision does the number inform, and what assumptions make the result valid? Translate the live activity into one sentence that names the decision or explanation, the required evidence, the audience, and the expected output. Worked reasoning: revision as re-derivation

Late revision drifts toward sentence polishing because polishing feels like progress while re-derivation feels like starting over. In a quantitative course the ordering has to run the other way. Repair the numbers first, then the reasoning built on them, then the evidence supporting the reasoning, then the language carrying all three. A well written paragraph attached to a figure computed on the wrong denominator costs more than an awkward paragraph attached to a correct one, and no amount of editing at the sentence level reaches the underlying defect.

Re-derive rather than reread. Recompute the key figures from the original values, independently, without consulting your earlier work, and only then compare the two. Check signs, check that units survived every operation, and check reasonableness against something you already know: an order of magnitude, a published benchmark, a total that cannot be exceeded. 7. Run the Week 10 quality gate

Three Week 10 pitfalls and the fix for each

9. Defend the learning before moving on

Before closing Week 10, the student should explain the live task, central claim or decision, strongest evidence, method or calculation, important limitation, and next action aloud without reading the submitted artifact. For a discussion, explain what the peer exchanges changed. For clinical, field, research, group, or proctored work, identify which parts the student personally performed and how they were verified. Any point that cannot be explained becomes the first short practice item for the next study session. This oral defense tests understanding more honestly than another formatting pass and turns the finished Week into preparation for Week 11.
